Hi everybody,
I'm new with this board, I need to design an application using it and no clue where to start.
I've downloaded the last firmware, and have the documentation of the source code, (a very complete html ) but still no clue where to start to develop my application"¦.
Some functions are not explained at all it's propose, and develop a simple program becomes tedious and impossible for me.

I appreciate any help.
Thanks

You might want to have a look at the µracoli project:

http://www.nongnu.org/uracoli/

It's a library/framework intended to help in setting up
small and simple projects for the Atmel IEEE 802.15.4
transceivers.

Thanks dl8dtl, It will be very helpful.
A negative point is that micro racoli is working without ATMEL's bitcloud, the API recommended in RAVEN to start developing software, but all experience in the matter is welcome.

I diagrammed a flowchart for the RAVEN's firmware 3290 and 1284, then, watching that
the 3290 is like the "user interface" to all external events, I choose to modify the software ( or interact with mine ) on the 3290.
That micro, ends in a loop checking events from the VRT kernel.
I think maybe if I understand how to insert events in the
vrt_dispatch_events() I can interact with my software and start do what I want.
¿that is correct?
Thanks

Ask to ATMEL support and the reponse was:

"It is NOT suggested that you work with the original RAVEN firmware. This is no longer supported.

We suggest you use either the BitCloud SDK for RAVEN or the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC firmware if you do not need a network layer.

Since we did provide all the source for the original firmware, you of course can modify and do anything you would like with that firmware
but we will no longer be able to support questions regarding this firmware release."

I rather got lost in all the versions, unsupported libraries and the like so my Raven sits unravened.

If you don't know my whole story, keep your mouth shut.
