Yeah, I know its not a popular debugger.

Anyway, I can connect the AVR ONE! to Mega2560's and Mega328 and such without a fuss.  But it will not connect to the XMEGA32e5.  With the AVR and XMEGAs I am using my STK600 with the appropriate routing card/socket etc.  I have confirmed that the targets are ok using the STK600 or an Atmel-ICE so the issue is the AVR ONE.

Any constructive suggestions appreciated

EDIT:

I can read the target power, but the LED that indicates correct target power remains unlit.  I cannot connect to a mega328....I was using teh On Board programmer of the STK600.  Using the ICE fails.

Looks like I found the problem.....

Turns out I was using the ISP/PDI adapter for an old JTAG ICE MKII which I am guessing does not have the same pinout as the AVR ONE!.  Bummer.

Of course the adapters are classified as Unobtanium.  The Manual has pinouts so I suppose I'll make an adapter....at some point LOL

Case closed.
