Greetings.

updated to Atmel Studio 6 (Ver. 6.1.2730 SP2).

Bot try as I might I can not program my chips. Have tried JTAG2, ISP2 and even simulator, always same error.

Error comes when I open the device programming dialogue and it starts to read the device signature. firmware upgrades that the software wanted to do to both of the devices worked with no errors. Sadly don't have another computer to test on.

Any ideas on what to do?

Send an email to support as well as posting here, they are not aware of any issues apparently.

Just use avr@atmel.com - anything you send there automatically raises a support ticket.

Exception code : c0000005

is commonly attributed to "ACCESS DENIED" in the windows world.

One guess : During startup, Atmel studio backend (\atbackend\atbackend.exe) tries to extract some files inside the same directory. Can you check if you have permissions to do so. Or try run Atmel studio as Administrator
