IS it possible to config. studio so that with 1 button it will: build -> erase -> program the chip ? I cannot find how to do it if even possible. Tool is #1 from sign.

1) Studio 4.18 build 716 (SP3)
2) WinAvr 20100110
3) PN, all on Doze XP... For Now
A) Avr Dragon ver. 1
B) Avr MKII ISP, 2009 model
C) MKII JTAGICE ver. 1

The final tab in the programming dialog has checkboxes to select a number of operations.

Alternatively script it in a batch file with the command line tools.

I'll look into the scripting option, but there's no build option in the auto tab. So I still have 2 buttons to hit.

thank you

No just 1 "Start" and leave the window open.
Just set everything else before going into the Auto windows and NEVER go back to another window if you have Auto Read enabled (which is always off in my setup) or you are likely to read the fuses or lockbits from an unprogrammed chip and wonder why it all fails.

I have a couple of Keyfob like programmers which I load up with everything and then take to the test bench for "mass production". (everything more than 1 :? )

The 2 buttons I'm writing about are "build" -> then "write flash memory..." . Not 1) open program I/F, 2) "program" button.

So are you talking about DEVELOPMENT programming and not manufacturing programming?

If so what's wrong with the "Build and Run" button? You need to set up your fuses once and then it all happens. I'm guessing you are using your Dragon for what it was meant to do and not just programming. :)

JS, yes to your question. I thought build and run was just for simulator. So, if I hook dragon instead of mkII then "B/R" takes me into debug session ?

For questions like this, there is nothing like actually trying it out.

As of January 15, 2018, Site fix-up work has begun! Now do your part and report any bugs or deficiencies here

No guarantees, but if we don't report problems they won't get much of  a chance to be fixed! Details/discussions at link given just above.

Yep! Programs your chip with the arrow ready to run. Then hit F5 to run or do ALL the nice things a debugger let's you do (just like the simualtor but in the real chip) ...including crashing at times... :)
