Hi, can some one point me in the direction of a tutorial to setup and use the serial interface on my attiny2313?

Thank you.

If you go here: [ http://avr.15.forumer.com/index.php?showforum=2 ] and enter UART into the search at bottom you will get a list of over 50 projects with source code that set-up and use the UART.

Would looking at working source-code be of any help to you? If it's well documented & remarked it would probably be almost as good as a real tutorial.

Have you tried entering UART into the search for this site here to see what shows up?

Have you used any type of uart before? If so the data sheet for the chip has all the info you need both in C and assembler.

Do you have the hardware side of the RS232 connected to the 2313 ( a max232 or other type of interface chip ) ?

I'm not a C guy but there should be afew samples that would fit your needs (you are not the first to hookup RS232 to a 2313 using C )

I agree with Digitool, all the AVRs are similar and out of 50 projects with source-code you should be able to find at least one that you can easily modify to suit your needs.
