That's about the only time on gets reasonable prices from Farnell.

They have AVRISP MK1!! (Code 113-551701) at AU$88.00 or 50% off according to them and STK500 (Code 338-442901) at AU$176.00 or AU$75 off.

Almost tempted to get another AVRISP but I have programmers coming out of my ears. :?

Farnell UK has the STK500 for £97.11 (about £10 more than AUS$176) and the AVRISP Mk2 for £30.29. They don't seem to have the AVRISP Mk1. The STK500 and AVRISP are RoHS, though. Are the Oz ones RoHS? They might be offloading old stock on the colonies. :D

That would be about right! We have not been "blessed" with RoHS yet, I hope they hold off for another 10 years untill I retire.

Looks like they're doing it again but even cheaper.

Went to buy an AVRISP Mk2 for AU$59.58 from a mailout I received this week and noticed that their website price is even lower AU$52.36.

It's RoHS, and they're doing free shipping on everything at the moment, which is nice

I just checked on the STK500 as a friend was about to buy one. They are now listed at $136.28. Last week they were listed at $160 odd - Grantronics list them at $150.

Have just seen this on aus.electronics:

http://groups.google.com/group/a...

Looks like we can now get components at US disti prices from Farnell's local Sydney warehouse with faster delivery, and free postage. (I'll definitely be checking them next time I build up an order - one can only hope it's true!)

Thanks for the tip. If that aus.electronics post is correct, we can get free shipping and price matching against Digikey.

I just had a look at the price of at90usb162 on their site. They're certainly not at the equivalent of the Digikey price, but they are definitely cheaper than they used to be.
