I'm ideally trying to do two things with the Atmel ICE:
1) Program an ATSAME54P20A with the 10-pin 50-mil Cortex Debug Connector over SWD.
2) Have basic printf functionality through the same connector, ideally through DGI over SPI.
I've been able to program my SAM E54 Xplained Pro over ICE with no problems, but haven't been able to access DGI through it. I know that it's possible, but I'm very unsure about whether I can get it through the same connector, or if I need an adapter for using the DGI with SPI separately from ISP.
So is this even possible with one connector? If not, what would I need to do instead? Are there any other good alternatives?
The ICE Basic Kit also came with a "6-pin 100-mil AVR ISP/debugWIRE/PDI/aWire/TPI header," but it sounds like this is just for AVR and not SAM, as it clearly states. Just for some more context, I'm working on a proof of concept on the SAM E54 Xplained Pro, with the eventual goal of being able to actually debug a program on a custom PCB with the ATSAME54P20A.
