I stumbled across Atmel Data Visualizer. It looks like a good tool for several projects.

But where is comprehensive documentation and example code?

I've found:

"Data Visualizer Software Users Guide"

and

"Data Gateway Interface Users Guide"

and

Atmel Start example "ADP Hello Example"

However, I don't see anywhere this tells me how to send data values for "Graph"ing or "Scope"ing from target up to EDBG. The example simply sends the text string "Hello ADP!" to "Terminal." It's not at all clear how to send numeric values, particularly how Data Visualizer would know which value I want as which trace on the display.

Is Data Visualizer worth wasting time trying to figure out? Does anybody actually use it? Why/why not?

I saw that, but I'm using an ATSAMD21G18 with code built using Atmel Start/ASF4/etc.

I would expect therefore to be calling functions like from adp.c such as those I see in ADPHelloExample/adp_main.c, but with "graph" instead of "terminal."

And how do I "package" up sending of multiple variables (one per axis) so that the recipient knows what's what? I hope I don't have to "bit bang" ADP protocol here.

Atmel should have kept going with ADPHelloExample to demonstrate Graph, Scope, etc!
