Atmega32u4 Debugging problem.

İ have ATmega32u4. I make a atmega32u4 board for my project. On the Atmel studio when i push the reset button recognize my chip and i can flash  my project to the chip via DFU. Than flash when i cover usb cable and re-plug it chip is run my program. When i push the reset button recognize it, but i cant debug my chip.
What will i do ?

From page 1 of Datasheet:

• JTAG (IEEE std. 1149.1 compliant) Interface
– Boundary-scan Capabilities According to the JTAG Standard
– Extensive On-chip Debug Support
– Programming of Flash, EEPROM, Fuses, and Lock Bits through the JTAG Interface

So you will need a JTAG capable debugger/programmer, such as an ATMEL ICE, or Dragon, possibly a Microchip PICKIT 4 or SNAP.

 

Or sprinkle your code with debug print or port pin wiggle code.

How have you debugged other micro's you have worked with?

Thx for your reply. ım newbie on owm micro's. Im using generally only arduino SDK, but i wanna learn new things.
That you say DFU Tool cant debugging my projects? İts True ?

Here is all I know of DFU:

It only talks about reading/writing flash and eeprom, no debug info as it is just a bootloader.
