DigiKey claims the AT90EIT1 kit is obsoleted by manufacturer. Atmel tech support says it's not and there should be a few around.

Looking at the particular processor in that kit it seems DigiKey also claims that one is obsolete, so even if a kit could be found this may not be the best choice for embedded web server development in 2006.

Anyone have comments on this situation, or any recommendations for what to do if you have a product that can easily be run with an AVR processor but also needs to be able to talk to the internet occasionally ? Nothing terribly resource intensive, we're talking about a home automation/security system type product. Although it seems that for better user interface one might want to use an AVR with lots of LCD pins like the one in the STK504.

Do I have to resort to 2 processors, one for web interface and one for the simple control functions (and servicing buttons / LCD user interface) ?

A friend of mine did it with an ATmega64... and it was a very complex application!

Real men don't use backups, they post their stuff on a public ftp server and let the rest of the world make copies.

EtherNut? (ethernut.de/, shopping at egnite.de/en/).

As of January 15, 2018, Site fix-up work has begun! Now do your part and report any bugs or deficiencies here

No guarantees, but if we don't report problems they won't get much of  a chance to be fixed! Details/discussions at link given just above.

I've never met a pig I didn't like, as long as you have some salt and pepper.
