As of this morning, Project Properties is no longer available.

Either from the menu or from ALT+F7.

It flashes quickly, and then vanishes.

Same computer, same project, nothing changed since install.

Makes it impossible to change the device now.

Interesting!

Not happening here with the same setup.

Couple of things I'd suggest:

1. Create a new project, does it show the same behaviour?

2. Reboot.

When I click directly on "Device", this is what pops up...

Go to the menu "Tools -> Extensions and Updates" in Atmel Studio and then select "Installed -> All" in the left pane.

Check if the "AtmelToolchainProvider" is installed and enabled.

Also, take a screenshot of the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Atmel\Studio\7.0\Extensions\atmel\as-vsix-toolchain-provider\7.0.xxx"  and attach it here..

Thanks,

Deena

Yes, the extension is installed.

This also fails on my home system, which is the beta AS7 install.

Here is a screen shot....

Starting a new project seems to fix this issue, but I want to find out what is causing this bug, so I have kept my original project.

No point dong a workaround, because someone else will probably get this bug one day as well.

.... takin' one for the team!

I can send the project file as well if needed.

Just email me... atomic at atomiczombie.com

Also, what would be amazing is a a fix for the decade old "Create New Directory" bug of Visual Studio.

It doesn't matter if you unselect the button, it still creates a new damn directory every time.

This would prevent the annoying task of cutting and pasting the files one directory back after creation.

Thanks for your efforts!

Brad

Ok, more commands on the menu bar are now failing on the project.

The ability to use "program without debugging" now brings up the same error.

I use this button more than any other.

I can still jump through all the hoops to upload by clicking on "Device Programming", but this takes way too long.

Did you forget to delete/replace the patch file AvrProjectManagement.dll with the original, which I gave you to resolve phantom issue?

It is always recommended to take a backup of the file you are replacing and putting the original file back again.

Also, the backup location should not be a immediate/recursive child of Atmel Studio installation directory, by default it is "C:/Program Files(x86)/Atmel/Studio/"

That could be the issue.

The patch is working great, so I would rather have to open a new project when I switch devices rather than having that phantom issue back!

I will just hold off until I have time to run the AS7 upgrade on my main system.

Might try it this weekend if I have the entire day free.

I have not done this yet as I fear that AVRISP / USB bug!
