Is it just me? The above is greyed out and I can't get to the tools help screen.

Just as well the trusty AS4 is also installed. :-)

Do you have a tool selected?

No, I just wanted to have a look at the STK500 help to see where I should be plugging in the Mega328p.

Should I now select the STK500 in the programming dialogue before the Product page for tool appears? With AS4 it is available at all times.

I'm not at the laptop where AS6 is installed.

Which one of the supported tools should be shown when you have not selected one of them?

As of January 15, 2018, Site fix-up work has begun! Now do your part and report any bugs or deficiencies here

No guarantees, but if we don't report problems they won't get much of  a chance to be fixed! Details/discussions at link given just above.

I DON'T expect ANY to show until I click on the HELP > "Product page for tool" (greyed out) which I'm assuming would be the equivalent to AS4 HELP > Atmel Tools User Guide.

That did it.

One of these days I may even try to understand what HELP > "Product page for tool" does. :?
