So I have created simple project, got the stamp of approval and now I'm trying to upload the zip files for AS4 and AS6.

I seem to find everything but a place where it will let me browse my HDD and upload the files.

I put several $100.00 in the IQ machine but it keeps on saying it's not enough... :(

Well the best way is to add all the individual files to an SVN, GIT, CVS or similar code database, see the SVN In my sdbootloader project for an example. When you later want to update one or more of the files you then just check in from your working copy.

 HUH? stop swearing please, no idea about SVN, GIT, CVS, I just want to upload a zipped up folder with the project files. :-)

It may be best to delete the project, Spaces is obviously not intended for simple people.

Ok how about the "file release system"?

Login and go to your project.
At the left use "Admin"
Under that under "plugin admin" make sure "File release system" is ticked.
Then [submit]

In the list at the left there should now be "Releases"
Select that then [manage packages].
Then [add new frs package]
Give it a name like "project files" or whatever
Make sure it's ticked as public and visible

Now "edit releases"
Then [add release]

Amongst the many options there you have an add file option.

(I cannot continue trying this on this ipad so you're on your own from this point).

I think I have done it and have ticked all the right boxes (public etc) but it still doesn't show up in the projects unless I'm logged it.

Had another try and there was still another step to go, now it is visible. (AS4 version only, for AS6 it can just be imported)

If I were you I'd add a note to the front page to say what the project is and that the user should look under "Releases" to fnid the files. I'd also use the Admin function to switch off almost everything listed at the left. Do you really want things like "Message Wall", "Forums", "Tracker", "Docs"(OK maybe this one), "Blog", "SVN" etc. ?

But, yeah, it worked, I can download your .zip file.

I can't help thinking Eric needs to read this thread. There should be some simple way for owners of an existing project in the "Projects" section here to simply lift the files and create a similar download on Spaces. The above is a lot of steps to go through to achieve the same and at the very least it needs to be written down somewhere.

...I did put down as the Unix name "noidea"

Maybe those things should be off by default, I don't think I cheched those boxes myself and I was/am in a state of confusion.

Hi John,

I've started a FAQ for Atmel Spaces. There's a link to it on the Spaces Front page. The FAQ itself is written in the wiki section of the atmelspaces project.

The link to the FAQ:
