Dear all
I have done a design based on LPC1788 and a 7" LCD along with a resistive touch screen, I want to know if you know some LCD panels with capacitive touch on them, So I can upgrade the product, I do not want to go to a custom LCD panel design,as my production units would be in the range of 300 units,
Something like this is very good, Do you happen to know the Panel part number?

I'm sure you can get a whole Android 7" tablet with capacitive touch for less than that so why not simply implement as an Android app and have a Bluetooth connection to the rest of the electronics?

EDIT: for example http://www.tmart.com/7-Capacitiv...

Yes but not off-the-shelf in the size you want.
Precision Design Associates, Capacitive Multitouch Touch Sensors and Modules
Go to the table near the page's bottom; the Atmel maXTouch part numbers are listed.
Could try a search for an Atmel mXT1386 capacitive touch controller.
mXT1386 (Atmel); wow, an AVR32 inside.

Projective Capacitive Touch Screens (PanJit Touch Screens) are the screen with a controller (goes on top of the display).
About 80USD (quantity 100) for the 7-in touch screen.

Thanks for the info, I can buy the LCD panels for 20 USD in 100 QTY, Does it make sense to add a 80USD touch screen!!? do you happen to know something more reasonable?

Yes if it adds required functionality.

What's the upgrade(s)?

Fujitsu NC01152-T101 4-Wire Resistive Feather Touch Panel 7-in (Mouser; 17USD quantity 100)
NC41120-0030 (I2C controller MCU) (11USD quantity 50)
states it's a resistive touch screen that has multi-touch capability.
-5C .. 60C but automotive is available (greater temperature range).

thanks for the info,But as clawson told we can buy a whole tablet for a lot less money, I just wanted to have the captive touch upgrade with in the 20-30USD price range at most in 100 units.

Well to sell those Android tablets at that price there's clearly someone in the Far East supplying what you need MUCH cheaper (like a $1 or something for the touch stuff). I'd either buy one of those tablets, tear it apart and see if you can find out what they are using or look for "tear downs" on the internet that have already been done.

For example this page:

http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/i...

Tells us that the iPad is using:

Quote:
Broadcom BCM5973KFBGH Microcontroller used for touchscreen

Broadcom BCM5974 CKFBGH capacitative touchscreen controller

I'm sure you can find tear-downs for things like Samsung Note 10.1 and others too.

EDIT: actually the base address of the URL above is:

http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown

that leads to things like:

http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/N...

and that says:

Quote:
ELAN eKTH325BAWS, which we guess to be the capacitive touchpad controller from ELAN's eKT line.

The touch controller IC is not that important, the touch glass that built with the controller is important,
