I want to build myself a system that starts my generator. I know a lot of ready made starters are available but i want to start it remortly and according to my need.
To Start the Engine I Turn a key which cranks the engine. I want to replace this key by a relay. Any idea what would be the relay contact rating required for this purpose? Im pretty sure the main starting current does not pass through this key starter arrangment.
For the change over from mains to generator i wnat to use a c/o relay here. The max rating of relays i can get hold of here is 40A. My manual changeover switches are rated at 32Amps So i was thinking of using 2 relays in parallel per phase for safety sake. Does anyone see any problems with this arrangement?
Let me know what you think.
