Hi - I designed a board using Molex SL connectors. I like them because they're easy to prototype with. We were making a couple of these so I figured that it didn't matter much that it was a decent amount of work to make a lot of these. But now I've been told that we want to make 100+ of these boards without changing the layout.

I got to thinking that perhaps I could just find an IDC connector that would fit where the Molex SL connectors are. The connections are all 1 to 1 and are of varying numbers of conductors.

Are there any IDC connectors that would fit? I'm used to most being 50 mil and two rows. Or are there similar styles of connectors that are cheap and easy/fast to crimp?

Aren't the SL connectors dual-row? How are you going to substitute a one row connector and cable for them?

Hmm - apparently they do make some two row connectors in the SL family. I didn't know that.

The SL parts I'm using are all one row. Something like 6-12 pins.
