I have been using AtMega 64 processors for many a year and am looking for a replacement MCU for a new design. The AtMega 644 seems as good a choice as any.
However, when perusing the datasheet, I noticed a reference to QTouch and became intrigued. However, as a softy rather than H/W designer, could I beg a little orientation?
It looks to me like all one needs to do is to fit a suitable pattern of tracking on the PCB (along with a handful of passive components) and then, using the QTouch library, I get the ability to detect the proximity of fingers.
1/ Have I got the correct end of the stick?
2/ What kind of material can I read though?
3/ What kind of depth should I expect?
4/ Any pitfalls?
Thanks in advance,
