I've had the following problem under 4.9 and 4.10 under Windows 98. I created a project, and imported some code. After I created the project I got the following messages:

Error seelcting xml-node 02
Error seelcting xml-node 02

StudioApp AddInitialView Can not find any file types, check
definitionfile for assembler/compiler

When I restarted AVRStudio I got the message:

D:\embedsys\AVR class\blink\blink.aps is not a AvrStudio4-savefile

I'm assuming I missed something in my installation or setup for AVR
Studio. I updated from 4.9 to 4.10 after I ran into this on 4.9. I also installed the XML update from Microsoft. Can anyone give me any ideas? Thanks.

Hi,

Did you uninstall 4.09 before installing 4.10? Atmel are very clear about the need to do this.

I would guess your .aps-file is damagad. What if you create a new projekt ?

I deleted and recreated the project file several times with no difference

If you add a file to your project, check if the filename/path has characters like & in it. Some characters might cause problems for the xml-parser.

From the above thread

Quote:
They have indicated that there have been other reports of this problem, but they have had difficulty re-creating it.

It seems that Atmel is using different type of computers than everyone else :D ...or there may be something drastically wrong with Win98 as I have reported an annoying bug with ICE200 and Studio 4.xx but unfortunately cannot be recreated by Atmel so it cannot get fixed, even though it occurs regularly for me to the extend that I have to switch back to Studio 3.56, and this happens on 2 different computers running win98se and 2 different ICE200.
Hang in there Lee I'm sure that a solution can be found, as I mentioned to you on the other list Studio 4.9 does (sort of) work with Win98.
