Any AVR Freaks heading to Electronica next week?

If so, print out this coupon or show it to us on your smartphone at the Atmel booth, and get a free AVR Freaks T-shirt. We're eager to see you in Munich. But hustle, as this offer is limited to the first 100 Freaks that show up at our booth. See you next week!

Would it be safe for people to walk around with the t-shirt on? No MCHIP snipers around?

"Be a part of the freaks community".

What does it say on the back?

"Get CAPTCHA'd indefinitely!"
"Join a sinking web-site"
"Support our web server department"

Atmel is spending money on printing T-shirts promoting this site, but can not spend money on basic maintenance of this site?

I have to agree with John,

Atmel spends money on making t-shirts that promote this site. Which is very good ofcoarse.
but
moderators(except a few) are volunteers putting free of charge time in it.
There never is money to get the freaks forum back up to date and that includes no time to be spend by atmel employees to seriously improve the site.

On my way to work I had a thought that made me LOL to the point where I almost drove off the road.

Put the text "Hacked, and proud of it" on the back together with this image:

Or, similar to T-shirts sold at rock concerts with the tour date list on the back (ugly as heck, and is what is keeping me from buying) they could have the AVRfreaks bug list here (also ugly as heck..).

Johan,

I know we live far from each other, but You are sure you did not drive from "Utrecht" to "Den Bosch" this morning did you???

Had A guy in front of me this morning that first slowly moved from his lane to the next one but was going faster and faster(4 lanes can be crossed....) and in the end he ended up in the fourth lane and almost in a right corner went back to the right most lane...

But a T-shirt with hacked on the back will be fun.....
altough a t-shirt with the known bugs is also great.
ow then they do have to keep room for new "features" to be added to the list. Then you can customize the shirt :)

@cleaner to bad that we can not get the shirts though, for the collection it would have been fun to have....

Nope, I try to drive sensibly.

I generally try to see the funny stuff in the sad things, so I was joking about the T-shirt. The genuinely sad thing still is that Atmel prioritizes 100 T-shirts before an hour or two of essential work on AVRfreaks.

Soon someone will come over and argue that the order has gone out, and all the web team needs to do is turn down Yakety Sax and just do it. The sad thing will still be that someone spent time on ordering the T-shirts instead of spending the time to go over to the web team and throw a lethal hammer blow on their music playing device.

I guess the T shirts is a classic case of the "marketers" & the "engineers" never talk. The left hand does not know what the right hand does!
I wonder how much a T shirt would cost to have made in a third world country.... 20-30 cents???

Charles Darwin, Lord Kelvin & Murphy are always lurking about!

well, in my home country, you would probably pay around 20 taka to 100 taka for one... given the current dollar price, $1 is probably about 100 takas?... youre almost right, making the t-shirt would probably take up 5 to 20 takas, soooo including shipping etc, you hit the right amount

I'd buy an Atmel golf/polo style shirt with a collar and a front pocket in Navy Blue thank you. Something that looks professional/managerial. So when Atmel has them in the store, have someone post a message to the Freaks.

Amazing. never seen that stuff. Alas, none of the shirts have left front pockets. Bummer. I need to keep my Schtuff there. You know, pens, screwdriver, hex calculator. I like the Aquamarine. No Navy for some reason. Another Bummer.

How much does Atmel pay for people to become walking billboards? Any work would come in handy at the moment.

The Australian government doesn't underwrite you as a National Treasure[tm]? You know, preservation, no modifications to the exterior, that sort of thing, in exchange for guided tours by the visiting hordes.

Should be good for 20, maybe 30 dollars a month.

Wow, I never saw that site mentioned before.

I may just have to buy a shirt just to say I bought a shirt. Wonder if I can write it off as a business expense? :?
