A query for any of you knowledgable wireless users out there..
I recently got 2 NRF24l01+ boards communicating with each other using arduino. Two boards, one MEGA2560 and one duemilanove. Press a switch on one board and an LED lights up on the other board. :)
I know this is Arduino but I am also learning how to program AVR and am currently tackling 'C programming. I have recently ben experimenting with the AVR Raven kit and have managed to run the supplied DEMOs, the Bitcloud WSN and have succesfully installed Contiki on my computer and burned the firmware to the raven chips but haven't got round to doing anything with Raven yet as I am waiting for a memory upgrade to arrive for my computer.
Now to the crux of the matter...
The Raven USB stick contains an RF230 chip as its transciever yes?
Can anyone tell me the likelihood of the RF230 being able to communicate with the NRF24l01 considering they both use the SPI protocol?
It would be nice to be able to program the raven USB board to be able to communicate to an external ATmega chip with the NRF24l01 connected to maybe send and recieve MIDI and/or OSC which I am currently studying also.. Any confirmation of possibility within this field would be a positive affirmation to attemp experimentation!
Cheers all. :)
Steve.

That's like saying a lawn mower and a Ferrari both run on petrol so you could drive either from Paris to Rome.

SPI is an utterly trivial protocol used by 10's of thousands of different devices of all kinds. Because a device uses it says nothing about it's functionality or compatibility.

Bloody big lawn!!

I know SPI is used in all kinds of applications..
I've got datasheets for both transXers so I'll do some reading.
:0).

Those transceivers are not compatible, they will never work together.
