[Video] Ask Alf-Egil: The first AVR sample
For the record, we use a replica of the board Alf shows off there in our department...as a coffee timer to signal us when our pot has finished brewing.

Eric,
It has just occurred to me to ask if you intend making each new video announcement/thread a separate sticky. If yes, I can foresee in the not too distant future having to go to page 2 for any other posts. Perhaps a single sticky thread would be more appropriate.
And while I am risking getting into trouble, does the recent makerfaire post deserve to live on as a sticky?
Enjoying the videos ... keep them coming.
Cheers,
Ross
Hi Ross,
If you notice, that after some indeterminate time, I release these posts from being sticky, so the sticky section doesn't fill up too much.
The point of making them sticky is to keep them at the top of the page for a while.

Absolutely. What other point with making something sticky is there?
Nice timing Eric  Thanks. Wasn't meant to be a poke in the eye ... I would certainly support a sticky for Alf and Dean's, et al's, videos; a good place to collect them all for easier access.
Cheers,
Ross

Double shot espressos every hour should be mandatory for all staff.
We could use a few of those brewski-alarms at NTNU (the university in town). :-)
EDIT: Perhaps add it to this machine: http://omegav.no/files/coffee_big.ogg
That coffee tastes horrible, by the way.
Here's another one of his projects: http://omegav.no/files/waffle_big.ogg

I honestly don't think I can stress how much coffee the office drinks in a day; we have a Nescafe pod machine, a 2 liter brewer that's essentially always cycling on, and a caffe press we brew up the good stuff in two or three times a day.

What?! No IVs yet? ;)
What?! No IVs yet? Wink
Oh god, I actually suggested that the other day. Methinks I'm adapting a little too quickly/easily to corporate culture.

("Come to the dark side, we have cake every Friday and waffles every second week")
and waffles every second week
Anyway we should all be proud of ourselves, another thread suitably derailed.
so does this mean that there was never made a AVR1300!
as the 1996 data book showed
("Come to the dark side, we have cake every Friday and waffles every second week")
I've been there for the cake. ;)
I'm not going to tell you what it's about, but Atmel's shooting for another video these days. Probably won't be long before they post another video to YouTube.
;)
eeck ... the "P" word. I can just see the new ad from M'Chip saying something like ... "Even Atmel uses our products"
Now I need to find my old MCU00100 board, I remember I put it back with my ES version of the 1200, I need to see which week it's from.
I remember that for the intro meeting of the AVR we got the boxes with the board without the AVR, and then we all got one from a "stick" of cpu's " fresh from the oven".
Remeber datecode 9710 when we had engineering samples
Remeber datecode 9723 when the AT90S1200 could do 16MHz
