I emailed Atmel Store many weeks ago asking if UC3-C2 Xplained would ever be available, as the device is mentioned in Atmel Studio for well over a year.

First response from Atmel Store was, it will be available on Atmel Store within 14 days.

After 4 weeks passed and it had NOT appeared for sale, I asked Atmel Store again.

This time the response was

"We have been informed that the development of the 32UC3C2-XPLD has been stopped and that it will not become available for sale. Sorry about that"

Yet today I see there is now a NEW 2012 UC3-C2 Xplained user's guide and you have to REGISTER !!! to view the SUPER SECRET schematic, previously there was no information on Atmel website about UC3-C2 Xplained

Schematics from Atmel Norway dated 2010-12-17

Has the ONLY UC3C evaluation kit that is NOT a dedicated Motor Controller [like the UC3C-EK] been dropped or not ?

If it has been dropped do I understand correctly that this is a subtle sign from Atmel that UC3C will be allowed to quietly die and we should not be wasting a second on it ?

Atmel released a bunch of new AVR32 variants a few months ago, so I doubt they are letting it die.

Is this happening because ARM is dominating?
