Hi Freaks
I am still having a problem with the SPI !!!

So here are the detailes .........
I have an STK200 Board and the original Dongle!
I use the AT90s8515 .
The AT90s8515 is ok because i manged to load a software to it using the STK200.
That means that the LPT1 (Parallel Port) is activ and works fine (otherwise i couldnt load any software to it)

The problem is....now i want to load the software to the AT90s8515 on my own board so i have built the board from the Peter Fleury web site "http://homepage.sunrise.ch/mysun..."
I have built onlythe relevant things for the simple operation....
That means that i built only the Reset switch and used the 4Mhz crystal.
The circuit works fine ( i have checked it with a scope).

I tried to load a file using the SPI with the STK200 dongle
I have tried to use AVRDUDE (and loaded all the drivers for the XP and for the LPT1) and the PONY PROG .
but kept on getting the same massage that there is no device connected
and when i used the AVRDUDE i got the massage RC=-1 which is a standart massage ( as i understood) for aproblem with connection.
I have double checked the connections and there is no problem with it.
Did you get any of this massages and got any ideas
May be the speed of the Cryystal or any other program to use ....
please advise

Have you tried pull-up resistors on each of the SPI signals?

Is your reset circuit connected to the download port? The programmer needs to drive the reset signal to be able to program your processor.

Do you have a pull-up resistor on your reset signal?
