Frequency Converter/oscillator with op-amp?

While building a second order high pass filter, I accidentally moved the gain resistor of an op amp to the place where the two capacitors intersect... What I noticed in the oscilloscope is that the input signal (8Hz) changed to 2000Hz! What happened and how did that happened? Is there any theory about it that has to do with op amps?

You gave it positive feedback and turned it into an oscillator. You might also look up single supply filters with google.
