I am looking for an off the shelf solution for wireless serial port communication. We have moving machines with a spare serial port with +5V power and 3.3V signals available. We want to send data in real time to a laptop for debugging and data logging purposes. 9600 baud is the absolute minimum speed required and faster is better. It would be nice if the Laptop end had USB connectivity so we can avoid USB dongles. Radios with different addresses would be nice so we can simultaneously test multiple machines. 1000' range with no walls in the way is required. We have the talent in house to make adaptor boards on the machine end.
Does anyone know of a off the shelf solution for these requirements? The less screwing around we do to get the system working the happier we will be.
