In case you did not see the easy to miss link on the front page you can get a discount on some AVR development tools here:
Half Price AVR Tools from Atmel
The STK600 at almost STK500 price finally makes it start to look attractive.
Read it again. It says lead time of 52 weeks!
Where did you find that number? I see it's only 2 weeks.
I'm looking at the ATQT600 for $100 (already have an STK600 from a previous promo).

That is the lead time for the ATQT600
I see what I have dumped below (first image) and if I click the STK600 link I get what I also have dumped below (second image).

You are looking at the promo we discussed already several times. The one Atmel and Arrow started with the Smart Car competition (which was won by some AVRfreak).
And the one where Arrow suddenly restricted the offer to US customers only.

Apologies. Was too quick in reading ... and obviously got it wrong.

Speaking only on personal opinion, the QT600 kit isn't all that useful to me, since the boards it comes with aren't meant to be integrated into a final application, and the base debugger/programmer is only designed for the included slave boards. It's fun to play with and evaluate what it can do, but it's not inherently useful like a STK600 is - or even an XPLAIN kit which can be re-purposed for general development.
