I urgently need 40 of Displaytech 64128E-GC-BC-5LP (or the other colours) which appears to have been discontinued.

I'll be on the phone in the morning but if anyone can point me at a supplier I'd be greatful - my google-fu is not working well tonight.

Ta,

Neil

Anything at Newhavendisplays that looks the same?

Nothing on Rutronik or Mouser, or the other one that displaytech list... nothing on newhaven.

And I bet they started making the boards already - I'm going to have to redesign, I fear... at the very least I need something with the same external dimensions since my mounting plates are sitting on my desk here!

I'm constrained in that the display has to fit within an existing housing, and *ideally* use the same display controller so I don't need to change any software. But the housing display is a killer.

I've located some 64128k devices which will do mechanically; the circuit board is a bit more complex though.

Well, after long conversation with the maker's agent, we've located some almost-equivalents (right size, wrong colour, putatively compatible chip) which should do the job.

Only twice the price and an import from the States.

Turns out the originals should have been marked EOL two years ago...

Aye well...

It turns out that the Displaytech 64128N (available from Mouser) is pin and package compatible with the discontinued 64128E. The controller chip has changed - it's an ST7565R-G - and as wired it's not *quite* software compatible... the image will emerge left-right swapped.

Just needs a single bit changing in the initialisation.
