Hello All,
I was wondering if anybody could suggest some ICs for a AC amplifier which can handle audio frequencies - gain about 20-40 dB?
Thanks!

A regular old opamp has gain! You want to drive a speaker? How many watts?!?
Indeed, Mr. Gardner has said the magic words, without speaking them.
Details!
LM386 if you want to drive a small speaker or headphones, LM3886 if you want something fancy. Any not too crappy opamp if you want the gain, and not drive much.
The LM386 isn't a very good device, the TDA7052 is much better.
I like class-D amps for driving speakers- very efficient and no stability problems
