Hi guys.

I'm an AVR32 newbie, who has bought a Copper board from StackFoundry http://store.stackfoundry.com/copper-avr32-stick.html (AVR32 UC3B1256). I have already got the "PERIPHERAL_BUS_EXAMPLE" up and running.

Now the next step is to do serial communication through the mini-usb.

I tried to do the "USART EXAMPLE", but this seems to work only if you have a RS232 com port?

Then I tried the "CDC" example in SERVICES/USB/CLASS/EXAMPLES, but I don't know how to install the "virtual com port" driver for the Copper Board?

Can anyone guide me a litte bit, although I might be asking potential stupid questions here. How can I do serial communication between the AVR32 (Copper) and a PC?

:?:

Any help is very much appreciated.

It must have been a stupid question, since I received no replies on this subject :-)

I managed to solve the problem myself. I was in fact on the right track when I was looking at the "CDC" example. What I missed was that I needed to build the code, upload it, run it, and then the usb will identify itself as a "device". Consequently, windows will set up the virtual com port with it's plug n play.

Actually, I didn't use the "CDC" example, but the VIRTUAL COM PORT example in the \APPLICATIONS\EVK11xx_UC3B_VIRTUAL_COM_PORT folder, which is much more simple.

By the way, check up on my Delta Robot project at this site:
