Hello everyone,

I was curious, is there any way to get the memory usage of an AVR32 processor while it is running? Just wanted to know so I can see how much memory is in use...I have looked around in the forum but I couldn't find anything covering AVR32 memory usage status. :D

Thanks,

How are you allocating memory?

If you are using malloc() in a dynamic fashion, its probably best to reconsider your design ;)

However, you can instrument malloc with a wrapper function to keep track of allocations.

If you are asking about static allocation, then the 'avr32-size' utility (GCC toolchain) will tell you.

Oh I see! I'm using static allocation for the most part, so this would be most useful. Thanks! DO you happen to know of any tools that could detect potential memory leaks in the code? It's not critical or anything just might be useful.
