Hello there,

I need an unidirectional microphone for a project I am developing, similar to a sonar application.
However, I need one that fits on a breadboard for an easier troubleshooting.

Any suggestions??

You could make a figure 8 mic with two back to back omni electrets. Make two, orient them 90 degress out, you have 360 degree coverage.

I need a 180 degree coverage or maybe less. Unidirectional mic that is.

AFAIK unidirectional mics can be expensive, used some about 35+ years ago from AKG?? for close talk stage manager desks.

Something like a funnel will focus the sound sensitivity as long as you try and minimise any sound pickup from the rear/sides.
