Hi to all,

I'm At me a problem with programming the LED display (HCSM-2915, 7*5 - 8 ).
I'm using Atmega128 chip and already made the design and I think it work right, because before it i'm used OSRAM LED (5*5 - 8 ) and it work out.

But with HCSM-2915 I'm cannot solve the problem. I have defined charected parameters in array, but can't out any symbol to the LED. I'm using SPI(byte) function to out symbols.

Anyone can help me, please.

Your HCSM-2915 device has a data sheet, and looks fairly straightforward to program.

Which is more than can be said for your Osram device. Does it have no part number?

If your mystery Osram device worked, then your code presumably worked too.

Unfortunately my crystal ball does not have a part number or data sheet.

David.

I have Verilog code that I used to test HCMS-3966 display, which seems to use similar protocol, if that could be of any help. Finding it may take some time, but I remember it well that similarity between HCMS-* protocol and SPI is illusory.

It looks as very much like SPI to me. But you have to specifically set SS high to latch the data. So you just do SS=0, 20 x SPI(data), SS=1 for each block of data.
