make error [Solved]

OS WinXp
Programmer notepad
avr-gcc 3.4.5

here is the error, I amm unable to sort out

make.exe: *** No rule to make target `abcasm.o', needed by `main.elf'. Stop.

Any hints to solve it!!

Is there an abcasm.c (or perhaps an abcasm.S)? Did you name it correctly (alt spell the name correctly in the makefile)? Remember that Gnu Make is case-sensitive.

If this does not help, then attach your makefile to a post here.

Fixed.

I was referring to abcasm.S file in the sub directory

I initially used
ASRC = abcasm.S

With your hit, I modified it to
ASRC = ./foldername/abcasm.S

It worked wit no errors.
