Hi Freaks,
What is the easiest way to connect a 3.3V coin cell battery to a breadboard? I want to use this battery to power the AVR circuits on my breadboard. I have looked at those coin cell clips but I don't think I can solder any wires to that.
Thanks
Coin cell battery and breadboard connection
Just solder a couple of wires to the battery holder pins if you can't plug them diretcly into the breadboard.

Or simply tape on a couple of wires directly on the battery and plug the other end into the breadboard.

That's neat and simple!! Do you know where I can get the battery holder you show in the pictures? Thanks.

What country are you located in?
Where do you usually buy your electronic components? Don't they have any battery holders?
If you only need 1 they are also used on pc motherboards (for CR2032)
I am in the US and I get my components from digikey, sparkfun, futurelec, etc. I will try looking at Sparkfun.
Thanks.
Sparkfun has this CR2032 battery holder for $1.25: http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce...
Solder a couple of short wires through the pad holes of this one and stick the other end in the breadboard.
Or if you only need one battery holder, you could find any old scrapped motherboard and steal the CR2032 battery holder (and battery if it's still good) from that as suggested above.
That's expensive! I use these (32p each):

Yeah I saw the same one, AndersAnd. I am going to try and scavenge an old motherboard.
Leon, looks inexpensive but I am in the US and with VAT and shipping, I think it will cost me more than $1.25.
You should be able to find the same thing even cheaper over there, though. Keystone is a US company.

Honestly if you are only going to get one foir a breadboard project the price doesn't matter. Shipping costs will be more than the unit price anyway.
If you are going to purchase some componnets somewhere anyway, just order from the same source.
Or rip an old motherboard.
Alternatively, you can get the cells from Digikey with welded tabs that you can solder to.
