Anyone else run into this issue? When I double-click on a label in register view, or when I right-click and select the name of the register, nothing happens. I can't change the labels, which is really annoying when trying to debug assy language.

I'm using a fresh install of AVR Studio 4.16 build 628 under Windows XP SP3 (I had Windows reinstalled a few days ago).

Thanks,
Mark

There's a thread about this lurking around here already - you are not alone - it's clearly a regression.

I did a forum search on "register view" and scanned quickly for a thread before posting, but didn't find a thread. If you see it could you post the link or send as a private message?

Thanks,
Mark

Thanks much! I read the whole thread.

I also experienced the bug in 4.15 as being able to edit the names but losing them once I closed the project. The difference I'm experiencing is that I'm unable to edit them at all. I'm thinking of posting a bug report but I wanted to see if/who else was experiencing this behavior first.

Thanks,
Mark

I have already posted a bug report. I guess we have to wait for SP1 of Studio 4.16. :(

See also https://www.avrfreaks.net/index.p... and https://www.avrfreaks.net/index.p...

Meanwhile you will need to revert to Studio 4.14 if you want to use that facility.

Ah, so it's not a bug, but bugs. I see it still does work to change the labels in the register list in "Processor" view, for whatever that's worth. They go away when the project is closed, of course.

Perhaps one of my college professors has joined the Atmel team maintaining AVR Studio, and this is his latest attempt at discouraging me from using global variables.

Thanks,
Mark

It used to come in pretty handy for me when working in ASM.

FYI I just saw a Studio 4.16 SP1 build on Atmel's beta ware site. The release notes do not mention this bug being fixed. I will download & try it just to see.

Just tried the (beta) Studio 4.16 SP 1 and it looks like we have to wait for 4.17
