I am starting off with the AVR and have got a STK500. I am looking for a book (paper or electronic) that will help me with topics like ADC's, SPI, serial interface etc for programming in C on the STK500. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I may be wrong but I don't think there are any books specific to using C and the STK500. You can try going to www.bn.com or www.amazon.com and doing a search on "AVR". This should give you hits on a least 2 general AVR books, one by D.V. Gadre, another by Claus Kuhnel. Again these books are not specific to C or the STK500.

Regards,
Steve

Simon,

I did a project for a signal processing class I was taking in my spare time away from work that I documented in such a way as to allow the prof to use my experiment as a general lab in the future. I specifically used the Codevision compiler - an inexpensive but very powerful compiler. The document walks you through the general setup required and the application builder. (you can download an eval version that actually compiles code - I believe) My paper can be found at http://members.home.net/oberstar...

I am also working on general teaching lab experiments that focus on the issues you are asking about. If you post here again still needing help I can provide you with copies of those as well. ** Except - the disclaimer is these are draft documents and utilize the Codevision compiler rather than pure assembler.

Good Luck!
