I'm getting ready to play (no pay) with the 261(can be set to run at 16MHz using the PLL without an external clock-more speed Scotty) and was looking at the pins and it seems they have PA2 having the same function as PB2- USCK & SCL. I'm sure there is an error here of course being a preliminary document. Went to Atmels site and it still is a prelim document dated 11/06.

Am I not looking in the right place for the updated datasheet for this device?

Very interesting, will the real USCK & SCL pin please stand up. :(

I have the same document with the same "possible" bug.

See the data sheet version 2588B-AVR-11-06 page 137 section 17.5.5 USIPP - USI Pin Position. The USIPOS bit selects between PA2 and PB2 (and some other pins also). No bug here :)!

You mean:

Quote:
• Bit 0 – USIPOS: USI Pin Position
Setting this bit to one changes the USI pin position. As default pins PB2..PB0 are used for the
USI pin functions, but when writing this bit to one the USIPOS bit is set the USI pin functions are
on pins PA2..PA0.
I'll be a monkeys' uncle!! :?

Hey thanks Mike, did not start going thru the whole datasheet and have never seen this functionallity before in a avr being able to move a hardware function to another set of pins(thats what got me). What this means is that now the timer out pins are available if using the USI. Hey they should start doing this on some of the more popular models (megax8's).

@js if you were raised as an Italian(Catholic) that would be blasphemous.

Thanks again.

True, I should have said "I'll be a kangaroos' uncle!!" since I have lived in Oz most of my life. :)
