Hi,

I'm having some trouble programming AP7000 boards with the JTAGICE MKII.
I always get this message:

Quote:

C:\>avr32program reset
Connected to JTAGICE mkII version 5.44, 5.44 at USB.
JTAG communication failed. Check connection.

This same jtag works fine with the EVK1100. I also tried with a different computer, same problem. I tried with two instances of a custom board we have with AP7000, same problem.

Last time I tried, almost a year ago, everything worked fine (different toolchain version).

Wonder if anyone has similar problems. Most ppl don't use the jtag with NGW100, so this perhaps could be an unnoticed bug. (?)
Hints?

Monday will try with another jtag mkII and a different NGW100 we have at the office, but any help before that would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Thiago A. Correa

On a JTAGICE MKII clone, it needed a patch cable to unconnect pin 8 and connect pin 2 to 10
-> https://www.avrfreaks.net/index.p...

if the clone is a 100% clone then could this be a problem also on the original atmel's jtagice mkii with ngw100.

Nope. I use the JTAGICE-mkII without a problem with the NGW100.

drt80, is your mkII firmware version the same as mine? It wouldn't be the first time a regression appears in the mkII firmware.

hi,

i am using original jtagice mk2 with fw 5.44 successfully on ngw100 and custom pcb with ap7.
This must be a problem in software setup or hardware. Do you have problems using jtagice in avrstudio32 and/or with avr32program.exe?
Do you use more than one jtagice? If yes, remove old jtags in avrstudio target setup and rescan for targets and reconfigure target.
I had such a problem because using more than one jtagice some time ago.

I'm only using one jtag. I have one here, and one at the office. I can use AVR32 Studio and avr32program fine on the EVK1100, but on the NGW100 I get those errors above :(

I haven't worked on the AP7000 for quite sometime, and it worked back then. That's why I thought it could be a problem with some new jtag firmware.

I even tried on a different PC (studio 2.1.0) to rule out the software setup (since I'm using the studio 2.1.1) but had the same result. :(

I use the version 5.35 with AVR32 studio 2.0.2.
