126MB? That's about 30MB more than last time. Is this the art of bloatware?

Yeah! What is this, some kind of bloatware?

Sorry for the 30 megs. Most of it is support for Visual Studio 2008. We use it to develop QTouch Studuo. The rest is still build with the 2005 version of Visual Studio

So maybe it’s good time to switch to another platform, e.g. open source multi-os? Don’t understand me wrong, you guys make a great work, but time is changing, and more and more people don’t use Windows anymore, or work at multiplatform teams, and the lack of compatibility with Linux/Mac OS becomes annoying. I don’t consider ‘wine’ as a solution for many reasons.
I think it is time to divide Studio into parts that people want to use ie:
Studio..on the rocks.
Wireless Studio - Optional additional download.
Battery Studio - Optional additional download.
I don't see myself using Battery Studio anytime soon and Wireless Studio would not be used by many people.
How much smaller would Studio be this way? (ie Trym it down :) )
Bear in mind, there are people still using modems (56K type) & that is very taxing on time & quotas.
I agree with js's recommendation.
Even more selection of options for the users & give an estimated size of the files on the beta page.
Cheers
Ken
Or make it a small onffine loader that allows modules to be ticked and pulled down during the installation? (something like the Cygwin downloader)

Isn't the .NET runtime entirely separate, which is the *point* of it? Users have to install the ginormous 350mb runtime once, and then linked applications are very small. Try removing some of the unused project references.
