some people have contacted me asking where the JTAGICE schematics is -
it seems that the original URL where it was is not available and that also
links to it are cleared in Google cache, real achivement from Atmel side
if they really did force google to clear the entries. The originally posted
JTAGICE schematics (original drawing from Atmel), was initially released
by Atmel, and did not have _any_ copyright notices. Still - as Atmel sees
that as a mistake they made - I am not making the original drawing available
(actually its deleted from my desktop) - well to make its own ICE that can
be BOOTed to mimic Atmel JTAG*ICE can be made without so or so - there
are several people who have done it and it functions well. From historical
reasons I attach the photo of the first proto that worked as JTAG*ICE
on the photo the big-green is JTAGICE (with ATmega163) and the smaller
PCB is target device being debugged (ATmega16), both have ISP connectors.
antti wishes happy ICE age!
BTW it was to my surprise that PICers are doing self-made PIC ICE boxes
for years, MPLAB 5 had the firmware for Microchip ICD debugger :)
