Hi All

I'm just designing a new circuit using the Tiny261. I have a question regarding the AREF pin. It says in the datasheet (page 154 just above table 19-3) "The internal voltage reference options may not be used if an external voltage is being applied to the AREF pin." Does that apply if I select VCC as my voltage reference? I'm in need of one more I/O and that's the last one I have left, but I still need ADC on other pins.

I've read the datasheet several times, and that's the only reference to not using AREF that I can find.

Cheers - Matt

Of cause you can use Vcc (or better AVcc) as reference and still use the Ref Pin as a normal IO Pin. All other reference voltage settings use the ARef pin for filtering or as an external input.

Thanks - I just wanted to check before the board went off to prototyping. I haven't used the 261 before.
