Hello,

I'm new here and I'm glad having found a forum about the AVR32. Now, waht's my concern? For my former projects I used either the 8x51 or the Mega series. But now I want to try the AVR32. Therefore I already ordered some AT32UC3A0256-ALUT. I don't want to by a plug-and-play board like grasshopper because they have to many features which I do not need. My board will simply have all necessary components to run the controller and to programm it. The power-part will be adopted from the grasshopper but I'm not sure how to design the serial interface for programming the uC. Which software (like ponyprog) supports AVR32?

Some helpful suggestions?

If you are looking for a one off use of the board you want to make, I would get a EVK1100 and the Needed JTAG to do the development over spending alot of time developing a board for the AVR32. I would also develop as much as possible on the EVK before changing to a custom done board.
