face recognition with CMU/AVR CAM?

Hi,I have not used avr cam till now ,but I have seen projects where color objects are tracked.Can AVR CAM be used to do face recognition?Any resources to solve this?

You will need a lot more processing power and memory than you will get with an AVR. The technology hasn't been very successful, anyway.

Tracking a color object is a lot easier than tracking a face... We all pretty much have the same face.

If you had a wire frame like a neck brace that he sticks his head you could extract a database of 'features' of each face... x,y, location of nose, eyes, maybe some 'edge detection' to find some lines, etc.

As Bob pointed out you use the distance between the eyes, nose, mouth, etc.

I’ve played with the AvrCam using it as a collection device only passing the photo to windows code above, it works!
