Hello frends
i am new to microcontroller programming and i am able to develop the code
but i don't know how to dump the code into the microcontroller
i saw many parallel port programmers on net and have even made 3 of them but none of them is working
my pc don't have a serial port
should i get a usb programmer r should i buy a original atmel programmer but it is very costly
i am in a very sick position
plz tell me how i can dump it and any valid programmer circuit and how i connect it to the target board
if i cross this all my troubles will be gone
plz kindly help me outtttttttt

Spending the approximately $30 to get the AVRISP MkII will probably save you ALOT of headaches in the future.

$20 will get you a Butterfly (and save $10) into which you can load "Buttload" for a fairly reliable ISP programmer solution supported inside AVR Studio.

While the following is no real different to the ones you have attempted to build there's some guarantee that it works and it's only $7

(that's from Thailand but Bob, a regular here, often recommends them)

The USBtinyISP is also another option for a programmer:

If you have laptop with PCMCIA slot buy on ebay PCMCIA card with serial port.
Second-hand cards don't cost too much.

Yeah, I've bought ERE.co.th stuff in the past and it is decent quality stuff.

You can also buy some of the ERE stuff at futurlec.com
