> [python program]

Thank you for the nice example gchapman, maybe someone will find it useful.

I only program in assembler

Python doesn't run on AVRs, and is unlikely to ever do so.

The "example" is a PC-side tool for setting up the "provisioning" of IoT devices like the new cellular board.

I'm not exactly sure what that means, but

  1. I applaud Microchip for publishing the source of such tools.
  2. Presumably most of us do not object TOO strongly to PC tools written in higher level languages than ASM.

Thanks for the clarification.

With PC tools I would agree with you.

How come I could not even find a datasheet of AVR28DA128? Where to find that?

AVR128DA28

web doc : AVR® DA Family

original is PDF : AVR128DA Final Data Sheet

Datasheets go through PCN.

How to search for Microchip PCNs

Yes

Another source of datasheets are PCN.

either

MyPcns List - Microchip

or

Product Change Notifications | Microchip

Some distributors will copy PCN then link to their copy of part data (datasheet as one of many)

I still want a replacement for the tiny85, with at least 8k in SO8 and/or DIP8.

(not that a 64k part in SO14, occupying about the the same PCB area as a DIP8, isn't pretty exciting.  BUT...)

Corrected in secret:  The first data sheets of the AVRxDx series where the longstanding documentation error

"The IF is cleared by hardware when executing the corresponding interrupt vector" in peripheral interrupt data sheet sections has been fixed (It's NOT cleared by hardware).

AVR EA datasheet appeared today.
