So, hi guys!
I got an AVR Dragon recently and it is real sexy. With it I have successfully unlocked 4 chips which I got their fuse locked. Pretty much the only thing I haven't done is the debugWire, since I'm on a Mac with avrdude.
Well, I got to say the hardest part of using the Dragon is wiring. It just takes much time to plug everything according to manual. So I come up with an idea to make yet another open-source programmer and debugger.
I'm planning on supporting ISP, JTAG, HVPP, HVSP (for ATtiny13A and such), and maybe even PDI and beyond, DIP-8/14/20/28/40. I also have got two AT89S52 antiques, so it would be a bonus to support it as well.
And it looks like something fun! It seems all programming procedures are written in their datasheets.
So... is it a good idea or not? Are there already similar open-source solutions? Anyway, I feel good!
