Hi,

Sorry if i am being stupid but i have spent all moring trying to figure away to read in and store data off a magnetic card reader.

I am using a ATTINY2313 and have the reader output on a i/o pin. I need to take the output and store the data, i will only be taking a small portion of the data off the card. Once the data is stored i will compare future swipes to see if that person is stored on the AVR.

any ideas.

thanks
James

What magnetic card reader? Without information on that no one will be able to help you.

This is off topic for this forum.

I can assure you that no one is stored on the AVR, it's just too small.

Jim

Well you need at least 2 pins for a non intelligent C/R. Is the signal off the head already cleaned up and of the proper level? (ie ttl level) Also which of the possible 3 tracks are you trying to read?

ps there is a C/R project in the projects forum.

Hi the card reader is a magtek one call a intellhead. The output i am getting is ttl and i am comunicating with the reader.

What i was asking is what is the best way to store the data i am getting. Should i use an array and store in the eeprom or is there a better way to store the data. I would like to store all the info off the card (all 3 heads) but this is a lot of info 2112 bits.
