I actually like the chip/board I got. The now retired Wemos XI and I think I paid an AU$ or less for it. I can run it full speed of  LiPo or 3V battery. It immediately gives it more bang for my buck over a Nano. In fact my second board will probably replace my Atmega328P on an existing project. (It would have already, if they had  DIL chip! laugh) I want to keep my expensive chips for better things. It will also save me some trouble with a VUSB implimentation as I won't need zeners and stuff to run at 3.3V... !
