ATUSBMICROCABLE-XPRO - USB cable Micro 1.5m | microchipDIRECT
edit : MPLAB Snap | AVR Freaks
[USB Cable] no longer than 1.5 meters
Really? I didn't think that was the way USB was supposed to work :-(
(alas, I reckon that many "USB Cables" fail to meet specs...)
Wonderful, except when I apply TP2000, it says
Must be a bug!!! If I only had the debugger...

post is a reminder to acquire a USB cable other than a charging-only cable.
A guess is takes awhile to update web pages (HQ sync'd to sales)
Dev Tool Deals | Microchip Technology was updated (sometime yesterday?) for Feb'20.
The TP2000 Coupon code does not work.
The stock levels have gone from 5486 at 01:46 GMT to 5,720 at 16:25 GMT
Farnell has 15 of them in Stock. Priced at £5.79. £1.16 VAT. No Coupon required.
Obviously Free Delivery is dependent on having an account (or having a £20 minimum order)
It is always worth comparing "Microchip special offers" with your local Distributor's price.
David.
Some of the ones at Microchip do work and effort on Saturdays though am guessing specific enabling actions can only occur on a workday weekday.
That Farnell sale looks good :
https://octopart.com/search?q=PG164100¤cy=USD&specs=0
https://www.microchipdirect.com/shipping-info has shipping prices though the fourth banner on the microchipDIRECT home page shows a zero price upgrade to overnight shipping for ones in CONUS and Canada.
I can never understand how the Distributor "business model" works.
They hold stock on real shelves for thousands of items. And despatch orders instantly.
This is fine for fast-moving items. They obviously make a good margin.
But there must always be obsolete stock left on the shelf. There will be a lot of capital tied up in parts gathering dust.
Eventually they might shift some to an "obsolete parts specialist company" at a loss. But they get the shelf space back.
David.
The TP2000 Coupon code does not work.
