This is going to be really obvious but how do i display the clock cycle stopwatch in AVRSIM?
I'm sure it used to be a menu option but i've been through the lot (i think!)
Ahhhh..... found it, after some random right clicking in the IDE it came up with an option to add a processor window.
There is probably an easier and more obvious way to do this.
To answer you next question - while simulating go to the debug menu and select the bottom "AVR simulator options" and the default 4MHz stopwatch frequency can be changed in the middle of that dialog to the actual frequency of your AVR so you can get accurate us and ms measurements.
Thanks, i had discovered that one... blind to the stopwatch thing! Oh well there in the end (after about an hour of head scratching!)
As a complete novice, one that can't find my c-programmers hat with both hands, I ask:
"Why isn't the AVR simulator stopwatch frequency pulled from the makefile or project properties data?" Seems like the info is already there. Any reason not to use it automagically?
